FAMILY FRIENDLY

Family Friendly

As a father raising two amazing girls with my wife, I understand the importance of being in a community where everyone cares for one another. As a lifelong resident of Pasadena, spanning six generations, I appreciate the character that makes this city such a great place and attracts so many families. Therefore, I will continue to advocate for more green spaces where our children can play and recreate outdoors. Additionally, I am committed to creating initiatives and programs that support families, such as the RBAC's swim program "Get in the Swim" that I initiated for all sixth graders at Octavia Butler Middle School. By establishing more equitable and affordable programs, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to swim at our brand new John J. Kennedy pool located at Robinson Park.

I also recognize the importance of fitness and understand that completing the 3.25-mile loop at the Rose Bowl can be challenging for young families and older individuals. To address this, I have advocated for and created a smaller loop around Area H, as well as invested approximately $1 million in restoration projects at La Pintoresca Park. Additionally, we have increased the number of story times at our libraries. Effective communication is key when building a community and being inclusive of all ages and abilities. By fostering inclusivity, we enhance the vibrancy of our community.

Our neighborhoods face many challenges, but those challenges are not an excuse for inaction. I believe in discipline, hard work and determination. I also believe we can build neighborhoods that are safe environments where seniors and families can thrive.

As your Council member, I will work hard to protect home values and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods for families and seniors.
